Requirements for National Match Official Candidates
- Minimum age of 21 years old
- Must have completed a minimum of two consecutive years as a Regional Referee
- Meet US Soccer standard National requirement Game counts
- Submit your application for consideration to USSOCCER
- Officiate a minimum of 40 Adult games as a referee at the amateur adult level or higher
- Officiate a minimum of 25 games as an assistant referee at the amateur adult level or higher
- All games must be 3-referee system at minimum
- You must obtain a minimum of three (3) evaluations relevant to the position/licenserole being applied for between the prior registration window e.g. for 2027, you must have evaluations completed between July 1st, 2025 and the USSOCCER adjusted window beyond 30 June 2026.

- Each evaluation must be performed by a different National Referee Coach.
- It is expected that you get a distribution of evaluations throughout the registration period (not all in a short time span) as well as obtain a minimum of one evaluation out-of-state (unfamiliar league/teams).
