The Metro DC-Virginia State Referee Program will conduct a 16-hour upgrade training class for those eligible referees currently certified at the Grade 7 level who wish to upgrade to State level (Grade 6) next year. This training class is one of the requirements necessary in the upgrade process to the State Referee level and is valid for 2 years. Other requirements to upgrade include the successful completion of the physical fitness tests, satisfactory match assessments and attendance at the instruction clinic with a passing score on the written exam.

The class will be held at Henrico Doctors Hospital Williamsburg Room A at the Forest Campus in Richmond on Saturday, September 13 and Saturday, October 4 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory.

The cost of the clinic is $50.

NOTE:  Sending an e-mail to the State Office does not guarantee acceptance into this State Upgrade clinic.  As of 8/22/08, there are more names on a preliminary roster than is the desired number of students.  It is possible that some referees may not be invited to this State Upgrade clinic.  Paul Mungra, SDI, will be evaluating the current list and making a decision about how to proceed.
